In this edition of Spectacular Spaces, we invite you to discover The Antiquarian’s House — a masterwork of curated elegance, layered textures, and inspired craftsmanship, set within Lodha World Towers, a landmark development by one of the top builders in India.

This luxury apartment in Mumbai is a beacon of architectural distinction and stands as a testament to the art of thoughtful design. Conceived by renowned interior designers Eshita of by.e.co and Rutvan of V Create Architects, this extraordinary residence reflects the deeply artistic sensibilities of its owners. Every corner has been crafted with precision, ensuring that no detail, however small, is left to chance.

Every corner of this exceptional apartment bears the imprint of thought and craftsmanship. No element has been left to chance; each detail has been painstakingly designed from scratch, resulting in a home that feels deeply personal yet strikingly grand. As Eshita and Rutvan explain, the brief was to create a space that was at once warm, inviting, and visually arresting. The outcome is a masterclass in balancing disparate styles and influences while maintaining a coherent narrative.

This luxury flat in Mumbai is thoughtfully divided into two wings, each reflecting the distinct personalities of its occupants. The wing designed for the family's son exudes a cool, jazzy, contemporary vibe. Here, a state-of-the-art music studio — regarded among the highest-calibre facilities globally — sits alongside spaces that celebrate boldness and creativity. Saturated colours flow freely, unconstrained by a single palette, while textures and materials layer upon each other to create a rich, tactile experience.

In contrast, the other wing embraces a more classic, traditional Indian sensibility. The interiors here are imbued with a sense of timelessness, brought alive by deep, luxurious colours, curated antiques, and artisanal craftsmanship. The challenge of uniting two distinct worlds under one roof has been met with extraordinary finesse, creating a home that feels harmonious yet alive with personality.

Materiality is central to the language of 'The Antiquarian's House.' Natural concrete textures grace the walls, lending an understated elegance and grounding the varied aesthetic elements. The omnipresent use of black, whether through black marble or accents, acts as a visual thread, tying together the myriad styles and spaces within the home. Ceramic and metal light fixtures, each custom-designed, punctuate the interiors with artisanal flair.

Adding an organic softness to the material palette, large, verdant plants are carefully placed throughout the home. These living sculptures not only enhance the aesthetic but also imbue the residence with a sense of vitality, ensuring that the ambience remains warm and welcoming.

A commitment to celebrating history and craftsmanship is evident in the choice of artefacts and furnishings. Many pieces were part of the clients' existing collection, lovingly integrated into the design to create a sense of continuity and personal storytelling. One of the most arresting features is a 16th-century door, registered with the Government of India, which now graces the foyer. This remarkable piece sets the tone for the journey through a home where heritage and modernity converse in perfect harmony.

In the son's master bedroom, a restrained material palette reigns. Raw concrete walls contrast beautifully with pops of rich, live-edged wood. A single, vivid artwork created by the son himself injects a personalised vibrancy into the space, making it both intimate and expressive.

The second master bedroom, meanwhile, is a symphony of luxurious textures. Featuring exquisite Jaisalmer yellow flooring and Banswara green marble accents, the room seamlessly blends wood and metal elements. Hand-painted walls by a local artist and an antique bench sourced from Mumbai's iconic Purana Wala add layers of authenticity and depth.

Ingeniously, two bedrooms were combined to craft a larger, more expansive master suite. Throughout, a delicate balance has been achieved between the interiors and the breathtaking views offered by Lodha World Towers' architectural prowess. Neither the interior elements nor the panoramic exteriors overpower; rather, they exist in graceful harmony, each enhancing the other.

In every sense, 'The Antiquarian's House' is a rare creation where artistry, heritage, and modern living meet in perfect balance — a shining example of what makes a space truly spectacular.
