“Preservation is the first principle of sustainability,” notes Deepak Chitnis, Chief Designer at Lodha. Preservation focuses on maintaining what we already have—be it natural habitats, cultural heritage, or finite resources—before creating or consuming more. By safeguarding forests, water sources, biodiversity, and energy reserves, we ensure that future generations inherit a thriving planet.

The Construction Management team ensures that minimum harm is caused to existing flora & fauna in a land parcel. Our design teams ensure that the concrete being used is 100% GGBS, not OPC. In line with our commitment to sustainable Lodha construction, industrial by-products such as silica and fly ash, otherwise destined for waste, are repurposed in our structures. From façades and buildings to roads and civic infrastructure, sustainability underpins every detail.

Living the Commitment

Sushant Patil, Design Head for Western Suburbs & Thane, reflects on how Lodha turns philosophy into practice. At Lodha Sterling, a 150-year-old tree was preserved and now stands as a natural companion to the clubhouse—an emblem of our long-term environmental commitment.

Lodha Amara, meanwhile, has evolved into a shaded sanctuary. An extensive green canopy cultivated through strategic tree plantation now offers residents a cool, verdant experience. “It is our philosophy to preserve nature,” he explains. “And we are continually building upon it.”
