Lodha UK is unveiling the first phase of its development project in Lincoln’s Inn Fields Lincoln Square. Lincoln Square sits at the heart of London’s historic and legal quarter between the cultural hub of Covent Garden to the west and the financial district of the Square Mile to the east. The immediate area is home to some of London’s most prestigious institutions, including Lincoln’s Inn, the Royal Courts of Justice, the London School of Economics and King’s College London, as well as the cluster of world class theatres and restaurants of the West End. Charlie Walsh, Director Sales at Lodha, commented:“This is a truly special part of the capital, sitting at the heart of London’s legal, cultural and educational worlds. It is an area that we have all enjoyed discovering, rich with history and stories, that has drawn us further in with the more we’ve learnt. This development will appeal to many people who already work in the area, perhaps in finance or law, to people who want to be at the centre of London’s cultural and theatrical scene and to people who are involved in some of the world’s leading educational establishments. It will be a fascinating mix of people.”
The project is the result of collaboration between some of the world’s leading architects, interior designers and landscape gardeners. Patricia Urquiola, the world renowned designer and architect known for designing the Mandarin Oriental in Barcelona and her innovative furniture range, is creating the residents’ amenities for the projects. This is Patricia Urquiola’s first project in London.
The interiors are being designed by Bowler James Brindley to reflect an elegant, warm and contemporary design, and the private courtyard has been designed by award-winning landscape architecture practice, Gustafson Porter, known for the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial in Hyde Park. The courtyard will provide an area of calm and tranquillity exclusively for residents.
PLP Architecture has designed the building, which has been crafted to blend seamlessly with its heritage location. Lee Polisano commented: “The thoughtful selection of high-quality British and Portuguese sandstone provides visual continuity to the building’s facades, each responding to the scale, form and palette of their surroundings: amongst them, the grand Victorian Gothic Royal Courts of Justice to the South, and the neo-Jacobean Land Registry building to the North.”
The development comprises nine storeys plus ground floor and two basement levels as well as a private courtyard. Residents’ amenities include a stunning 25 metre swimming pool and spa complete with separate vitality pool and treatment rooms, a gymnasium, a private club and library, a cinema room, private dining room for up to 36 people, as well as snooker and games rooms. Lincoln Square will offer residences from studios to four-bed apartments and two penthouses.
Abhishek Lodha, Managing Director, Lodha Group, comments: “We are excited to reveal the truly special product: Lincoln Square, London. It is a unique development which befits the area’s impressive heritage, and through careful attention to detail and a focus on bringing residents together we hope to create a visionary scheme and community.”
Planning permission for the site was granted in October 2015 and completion of the first phase is expected in 2018. The appointed sales agents are Knight Frank and CBRE, and sales are expected to launch later in the year.
