Social Initiatives


The LODHA Group's vision of 'Building a Better Life' extends to its corporate social responsibility initiative which aims to create a better life for its brethren in the society.

LODHA Foundation implements developmental initiatives in Mumbai and rural areas in Kalyan-Dombivli Region. The foundation aims to improve the lives of communities by making need based investments in initiatives that provide both short and long term benefits to individuals and community at large.

Focus areas of work of foundation are health, education and livelihood development. The foundation also has initiatives for promotion of art, culture, religion and patriotism besides providing civic support services and relief work during calamities. These programmes are implemented in collaboration with community level stakeholders.

Through its various initiatives the foundation is directly impacting upon the lives of thousands of individuals to have a better quality of life.


LODHA Foundation has various initiatives to provide health services to the community and improve their health status.

Mobile Health Clinics are operational in various localities providing medical check-up, investigations and medicines. School Health camps are organised in schools to indentify and refer children with health problems. Besides special Health Camps for Females are organised where the patients undergo examination and medicines are give free. To provide poor patients with good quality medicine at low cost a Generic Medicine Shop has been opened. The foundation aims to reach such patients who need medicines by collaborating with doctors in the locality.

A medical assistant initiative called 'Jeevan Asha Yojana’ arranges for financial and medical help for patients who are too poor to meet the expenses of expensive medical treatments and surgery on their own has been started. To arrest the spread of diseases through mosquitoes Dengue and Malaria Control Programme by fogging and cleaning of drains is undertaken at community localities. A special initiative to ensure clean drinking water is available to community a programme for Water Tank Cleaning in housing societies, schools, colleges and police stations has been taken up.


To improve the educational status of the students and adults LODHA Foundation has devised many need based programmes.

LODHA Scholarship Programme has been instituted with the aim to benefit meritorious students every year who do not have financial support. These scholarships are given every year. The foundation supports two Schools based in Nalla Sopara and Dombivili which provide education to children at nominal fees. Besides LODHA Memorial School, Thane and LODHA World School, Palava provide best environment for the students to attain world class education. Education of girls is given special emphasis by the foundation and thus Girls’ Education Programme for promoting education of girls from secondary to undergraduate level is being implemented. Distribution of Academic Books by the foundation to the students of class I to XII is done annually every year in month of June. Books are given to students of government aided schools and private schools.

The foundation has dedicated Mobile Libraries to public service which is meeting the need of people who cannot go to library located far from their residence. A Study Centre has been established which provides good space and environment to the students from lower income group who do not have appropriate place in their homes to study. English Speaking Class for youths, housewives and school children aims at improving their competency thus helping them overcome this language barrier. A unique programme called Career Guidance Camps are regularly organised with the aim to provide useful information to the youths in high school on career planning.

Foundation organises IT Gadget Training Programme for citizens in older age group in operation of Internet, Computer, Smart Phone & iPad as many of them do not know how to operate these devices. The Foundation also gives youth a chance to peak into the history and to get inspired by the legends that lived on this land. This Educational Tour is organised every Sunday for them to visit Raigad Fort.


LODHA Foundation has initiative that aims to promote self-employment and improve income of the families.

Foundation’s Employment Linkage Programme is helping the youths to prepare for interviews and seek suitable employment. The target beneficiaries of the programme are youths in the age group of 18 to 35 years. Foundation’s Vocational Training Programmes for women aims to promote employment opportunity for them. The programme provides training on making soft toys and imitation jewellery.

LODHA Foundation runs Computer Training Centres that provide vocational training in computer hardware and mobile repairing. The aim of the programme is to generate self employment by giving skills to the individuals who can use it. Besides Beautician & Mehandi (decoration in hand) designing Training Centres for women is imparting skills that can help them earn a living. The initiative targets women in age group of 18 to 45 years so as to make them self reliant through imparting skills.

Self-Help Groups been formed by mobilizing women with a purpose of inculcating a habit of savings for use in time of need. Besides opportunities are also explored to engage them in work that help them financially. LODHA Foundation supports women especially widows and destitute aged between 45 – 65 years having no family support or source of income. Ration Supply comprising of wheat, rice, pulses, edible oil, tea powder, sugar and salt is provided to these women every month.

Other Initiatives

LODHA Dham was established in 2013 in 1.5 acres land at Vasai close to Mumbai provides a place for the Jain pilgrims and saints to stay there for short duration during their pilgrimage. Similarly LODHA Vatika established in 2014 in Bhivandi near Mumbai – Nasik Highway provides a resting place for the pilgrims who travel on foot to Sai Baba temple in Shirdi. The foundation has also established Cowshed at Bhivandi, close to Mumbai. The place provides shelter to 42 cows in the cowshed.

To fulfil the spiritual and emotional requirements of the Senior Citizens a Day Long Pilgrimage to different religious locations within / nearby and nearby Mumbai is undertaken. Joy of Giving Week the "festival of philanthropy" is celebrated by engaging employees in LODHA Group to donate for charitable organizations working for different cause.

Relief Work in different communities affected by any calamity was given by supplying families with food provisions. In collaboration with other corporate partners water harvesting initiatives for drought affected villages have been undertaken. Self Defence Programme for girls and women are organised regularly to train them to overcome any physical assault. LODHA Foundation is Promoting Sports among youth and helping the budding enthusiasts to shape up their career is cricket and boxing.

LODHA Foundation has established at 24 x 7 helpline for citizens living on Walkeshwar, Khetwadi, Tardeo, Girgaum, Gamdevi, Operah House and Malabal Hills in Mumbai. It provides information and registers civic complaints in an effort to make the administrative system more responsive and accountable. Civic Support activities of the foundation helps citizens procure their various identity cards from government departments.


LODHA Foundation organise various events around the year to celebrate various occasions.

The foundation organised ‘Shreshtha Bhatar Day’ in collaboration with Shahid Gaurav Samiti on 27th January 2014 in which more than 100,000 citizens participated. The event was organised to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the song ‘Ae mere watan ke logon’ that was sung by Lata Mangerskar.

Foundation has been actively supporting the Mumbai Marathon that is organised every year by sponsoring participants for the marathon. The participants are selected from the LODHA Group who has interest in running marathon.

Malabar Hill Mahotsav organised every year promotes sports, culture and arts. In this festival various events are organised over a period of week that brings participants from all walks of life together in harmony and enthuses a competitive spirit as well among them.

LODHA Foundation has been celebrating with all vigour The Ganesh Festival every year in the month of September. In this festival huge pandal (fabricated structure) is constructed where the idol of lord Ganesh is placed for worship.

Foundation promotes patriotism by supporting housing societies in organising Flag Hosting events on two occasions that are of national significance viz. Republic day on 26th January and Independence Day on 15th August.
